Future of print journalism examined at April 18 CVPRO luncheon

Good news, bad news for newspapers. The public's interest in news seems to be rising, thanks to increased use of mobile devices. But newspaper circulation is down along with ad revenue. *

Are print newspapers dying? If so, what does the digital future hold for newspapers? These questions and a lot more will be addressed Wednesday, April 18, when the Central Valley Public Relations Organization (CVPRO) sponsors a luncheon featuring two top news executives at the Modesto Bee.

Dan Day, Director of Interactive Media and Audience Development and Joe Kieta, recently named Editor and Senior Vice President/News for the Modesto Bee, will explore these topics and discuss their perspectives regarding many contemporary media issues. The session will be held at the Modesto Bee, 1325 H Street, Modesto. Networking begins at 11: 30 a.m. with the luncheon and presentation starting at noon. Free parking is available in the Bee's employee lot on 14th Street between G and H streets. All spots are open except those marked reserved.

This meeting is a great opportunity for PR/Marketing professionals to learn how the Bee is adapting to the rapidly changing news environment. Attend and learn how your organization can best access the Bee's multiple media platforms to communicate with your audiences.
